WORKSHOP 1: Confirmation 1

The workshop focuses on what is required for confirmation (e.g. abstract, thesis chapter plan, contextual review, bibliography, etc..) and on how to shape the various components of the written document.  Students are invited to bring their abstract and thesis chapter plan for group discussion.

WORKSHOP 2: Registration

What is an RF3 form? Why is it important and what does it entail?  The workshop focuses on how to develop a form for registration through a close consideration of its sessions and group work.

WORKSHOP 3:  Research Visual Charts to be run together with graphic designer tutor (TBC)

Following a suggestion raised at CSMRSC this session focuses on how to develop and draw visual charts and plan charts for the research. The session also considers useful ways to conceptualize research and research process through visualization.

WORKSHOP 3.B: How to Read and Rite/The Contingent Researcher.

Jeremy Till presents a double header, starting with some very basic, but necessary, observations on reading and writing, and then moving on to answer the question – how can good research possibly be contingent?

WORKSHOP 8:  Practice/Theory for practice based PhDs

The relation between practice and theory for practice-based research can be complex and multifaceted: the workshop offers a forum to discuss some of the issues faced by researchers and looks at writing as a form of practice.

WORKSHOP 10: Structuring a PhD Thesis

The workshop focuses on how to shape a PhD thesis by looking at different examples and ways to integrate theory and practice, documentation, methodology and the literary and contextual reviews.

 

The Doctoral Platform at CSM offers PhD candidates the space in which to meet, share research, as well as co-ordinate, curate and participate in a variety of events.
